Food safety supervisor

Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) | (AU)$ 150.00

FSS Sydney is delivered monthly at our Lakemba training centre.

Food Safety Supervisor Sydney course cost is $150.00 and includes the NSW Food Authority FSS certificate.

Wiseman is approved by the NSW Food Authority to issue the Food Safety Supervisor certificate as required in NSW. To receive a Food Safety Supervisor Sydney certificate for NSW you must complete training in the following units:

  • SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety

  • SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices

The Food Safety Supervisor course is delivered from 9.00 am to 4.30pm, over 2 days of Face-to-Face training, starting from $150.00 per person. On successful completion of the course you will be issued with your NSW Food Authority accredited certificate.

Award:

Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for:

  • SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety &

  • SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices.

 

This Units of Competency is Nationally Recognised Training from Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.

Food Safety Supervisor certificates are emailed to students however hard copy is available for additional fee.

Description:

​

This course is designed to improve your understanding of hygienic food handling and also provide you with the skills and knowledge required to handle food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service and disposal of food and follow a food safety program.

​

The course includes a small fee for the Food Safety Supervision certificate with the NSW Food Authority. The FSS certificate is valid for five years from the date of issue and is a requirement to work anywhere that serves food, including restaurants, clubs, take-aways and pubs.

Content:

​

This course will provide you with all the skills and understanding needed to be a successful Food Safety Supervisor, including:

  • Legislative requirements

  • Understanding food safety policies and procedures

  • Identifying and controlling hazards

  • HACCPP

  • Personal Hygiene

  • ANZFA guide to food safety standards

  • Food Safety monitoring

This Food Safety Supervisor course is delivered over Two Seven (7) hour session.

There are 3 components to this program:

  1. Theory training in the Kitchen

  2. Practical training in the Kitchen

  3. Assessment for both knowledge and skills

​

Duration:

 

2 days - face to face

​

Assessment Method:

 

Assessment is ongoing through demonstration of practical skills, role plays and a quiz.

 

Prerequisite:

 

There are no prerequisites for this course

​

Legislation requires refresher training every five (5) years.
