Previously known as Apply first aid or Senior first aid, this training course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, including in the home, workplace or within the community, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. 

The Provide first aid course is delivered from 9.00 am to 4.30pm, over 2 days of Face-to-Face training,  starting from $150.00 per person. On successful completion of the course you will be issued a statement of attainment.

On successful completion, you will be issued with the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment – HLTAID003 Provide first aid.

Description:

​

During Provide first aid you will learn the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. Suitable for a wide range of first aid requirements, this unit applies to all people who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings. Australian Red Cross courses follow the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. 

Note: It is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor. 

Recertification: Current industry standard is for this course to be updated every 3 years with the CPR component to be updated annually.

- Envernomation 
- Extremes of heat and cold 
- Eye and ear injuries 
- Musculoskeletal injuries: fractures and dislocations, strains and sprains 
- Poisoning and toxic substances 
- Respiratory distress, including asthma 
- Seizures/convulsions 
- Shock management 
- Stroke 
- Unconsciousness

Assessment Method:

 

Assessment is ongoing through demonstration of practical skills, role plays and a quiz.

There are no prerequisites for this course
